Our History
De Silva Motor Engineers was founded in 1960, and initially specialized in motor vehicle repairs, restorations, and fleet management service. Within few years we were able to expand towards offering vehicle valuation services, as it was a growing need at the time due to the booming second-hand vehicle market. Focusing on reliability and accuracy, De Silva Motors pioneered market-accurate value assessments, identifying tampered vehicle chassis numbers, altered or forged C/R books, and doubtful vehicle ownerships. This was one of most key achievements that allowed us to become the trusted valuation partner of state banks, private banks and finance companies as well as government institutions. In 1970 we became the first vehicle valuation company in Sri Lanka to be registered in Central Bank. By 1990s we adopted computerized systems for efficient valuation report generation and further in 2000s we incorporated digital technologies, particularly GPS location software.

Founder of De Silva Motor engineers a sole proprietorship Vehicle workshop with a staff of 50 skilled and semi skilled Employees, and was a popular place for good quality vehicle Repairs and restorations. As the need for an independent Vehicle inspection and valuation service was required by The then financial industry a format and procedure was Developed by Mr B E De Silva and accepted as the standard And norm for vehicle valuation reports by all financial Institutions and the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. Hence a Solid foundation for vehicle valuations was instituted by him A member of the Institute of the Motor Industry UK he is our Mentor and guide in all thing to do with Motor Vehicles.
